Hi! I am Carmen Neagoe, and I am honoured you are reading these lines! Thank you for being here, now.
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Liverpool, specialising in Transactional Analysis and Ecological/ Outdoor Therapy.
My work is rooted in the deep desire to understand how we function as human beings - mind, body and soul - and how mental and emotional struggles impact our lives, our relationships, and our world.
With more than two decades of experience exploring human psychology and personal growth, I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for anyone ready to explore themselves, heal and grow.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and I am fully trained and practicing in Ecological Transactional Analysis - a powerful, practical approach for understanding behaviour and relationships.
My work is integrative: while Transactional Analysis is my main method, I also draw inspiration from transpersonal psychology, systemic work and humanistic philosophy. Thinking of figures lie Eric Berne, Carl Jung and Erik Erikson as guides behind the scenes - but my work is always tailored simply and directly to you.
My aim is to help you create new ways of thinking and being: to heal the pain or patterns from your past, bring awareness fully into the present, and give you the freedom to build the future and the life you truly want.

As a counsellor specialised in Transactional Analysis, I
work with compassion and curiosity to understand what is happening in your

Life Positions. In simple terms: these are the stories we live by, the
unhelpful cycles we get stuck in, and the ways we see ourselves and others.

I believe therapy works best when it is structured, yet
flexible — always moving at your pace. Here is exactly how we work together:
Understanding the Root Cause
We do not just look at the surface of the problem. We go
deeper to understand where it comes from. Our patterns, beliefs, and ways of
reacting are shaped over time — from childhood, our family, our culture, and
our experiences. We look at all these influences and see exactly how they are
affecting your life today.
Using Transactional Analysis, we explore:
* Parent-Adult-Child states: Understanding the different
"parts" inside you — the inner critic, the rational adult, the
emotional child — and how they influence how you speak, think, and act.
* Communication & Relationships: How you connect with
others, what you expect from relationships, and how to build healthier, happier
connections.
* Life Script: The "story" you learned early in
life — and how to rewrite it so it fits the life you want now.
This approach gives you clarity first. You will understand
why you feel or act the way you do — and understanding is the first step to
change.
I am also an Ecological Therapist, which means I offer
sessions outside, in nature. This is sometimes called Walk and Talk Therapy.
How it works:
Instead of sitting in a room, we meet in one of Liverpool’s
beautiful, safe green spaces — such as Sefton Park, Calderstones Park, or
Otterspool Promenade. We can walk slowly or sit on a bench — whatever feels
right for you that day.
Why it works so well:
* Less pressure: Walking side-by-side often makes talking
about difficult feelings much easier and less intense.
* Nature heals: Being in green space scientifically lowers
stress hormones, calms anxiety, and helps your mind slow down and think more
clearly.
* Freedom & safety: You feel less "observed",
more open, and the movement helps release built-up tension or emotion.
* Local &
familiar: We use well-known, accessible locations right here in Liverpool.
